Tales from Haifa

Haifa is a city in Northern Israel, Stephen Beddows arrived in Israel with a long-term mission - to create a team that could challenge for honours in Mediterranean  League. A club whose sole success came in Season Five in the Mediterranean Cup have been without success for 15 seasons.

Success came quickly in terms of a great run of form and place in the Cup Semi-Finals, the post-season saw some new arrivals and this season they find themselves in 4th after 6 games.

Tales from 4th December 2014:

Today GC1 Reporter, Rupert Griffin took in the sights and sounds surrounding the "Kiryat Eliezer" stadium with Haifa's very own young left back - Taleb Tawatha.

Tawatha under Beddows has quickly established himself (perhaps surprisingly) as first choice Left Wing Back. He said to Griffin, "I love it here, this is my 4th full season and we are playing some great stuff, I am enjoying it and scoring." Tawatha is firmly the fans favourite as the only young native in the team but what has he learnt from his new teammates: "Kuranyi and Tedjada have been great, they have really helped develop the attacking side of my game" he said proudly whilst showing our reporter the best sea view from the stadium where he plies his trade.

The beaches of Haifa have attracted players like Kavlak, Trippier and Turner
